Requirements of a Beer and Wine Survey and
Why They are Required?

The licensing authority uses liquor license surveys (Atlanta) to determine if the sale of alcoholic beverages at the applicant's proposed place of business meet the guidelines. It also provides the applicant the information to understand why a certain location works or doesn't work.

The Code of Ordinances for each county and municipality outline the distance requirements for the business from churches, schools, alcohol treatment centers, residences, libraries, and public parks. The Code of Ordinance also details the method of measures the distance.

Two general methods are usually specified. The first is a straight line distance from the business to the church, or school.

The second method is measured on the ground for the most direct line of travel.
